Through our public-private collaboration, WFSC and RHH offer programs, events, and activities designed to promote health and reduce stress and anxiety in an optimum environment for healing and rehabilitation.

Our Philosophy

The construction of the Warrior and Family Support Center, made possible by Returning Heroes Home, has been heavily influenced by “evidence-based design”. This philosophy influences the physical environment in order to promote the healing experience, enhance family and social interactions, and offer a sense of home.

Evidence-based design takes into account how elements such as building layout, windows, light, access to nature, color, sound, furniture arrangements, and air quality contribute to positive outcomes, both physical and emotional, for our Warriors in recovery as well as their Family Members. This philosophy continues to guide the supporting programs, events, and activities that enhance the quality of life for the Warriors and their Family Members served through WFSC.

.

If you would like to donate to programs, events, and activities that enhance healing and promote family and social interactions while offering a sense of home to Warriors receiving medical treatment at SAMMC, then RHH wants to hear from you.
You can rest assured knowing that your donations will be used to improve the quality of life for Warriors and their Family Members.

Family Comes First!

testimonial

We are close family.

Judith and the staff and everyone that I have met here while my son was recovering provided me with 100% more support and encouragement than our home town community. Without this support and encouragement I know that it would have made this journey more difficult if not impossible.

When my husband was medivaced from Iraq, he had no idea these facilities were here. It was an oasis for both of us. The staff went out of their way to help us and answered so many questions for me.

Too Far Away!

There have been countless hours that I have just gone … to sit and talk to someone. They have been my family away from home and have been there for me through the tough times and celebrated with me during the good.

I attribute the WFSC directly for being able to maintain my morale and a positive attitude during my recovery. Not only have they helped greatly with my recovery, they also gave me pointers and the knowledge I needed to safely invest my money to secure my future by helping me work out what shares to buy now. In my opinion, this staff and facility is the best money spent for recovering wounded warriors at Brooke Army Medical Center.”
